Christian Schiller’s vision is a world of 100% circular plastics, where not a single gram of waste ends up in the environment. His commitment to this cause was ignited when he found himself entangled in a sea of plastic waste along the Colombian coastline. Fueled by this experience, he embarked on a mission to eradicate plastic waste from our planet using digital technology.
In late 2018, he established Cirplus, as global B2B procurement platform to help companies across the globe integrate recyced plastics into their products at scale.
Christian Schiller has extensive experience in building and scaling digital solutions. He was the first employee of BlaBlaCar Germany, the world’s largest long-distance ride-sharing platform with more than 100 million users. He has served as a board member to Germany’s leading plastic testing laboratory, Kunststoffinsitut Lüdenscheid, from 2021 until 2024. Since March 2020, he serves as delegated expert at at DIN NA05-03-03 (Circular Plastics) and at CEN TC249/WG11 (Plastic Recycling) since September 2021.
Christian studied law and international relations at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg, the Technical University of Dresden, the Université Sophia Antipolis (Nice, France) and the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (Boston, USA) and is an alumnus of the German National Academic Foundation, the DAAD Carlo Schmid Programme and the Fulbright Foundation.
