amber
Amber is a German business AI that not only makes company knowledge accessible but also structures, networks, and utilizes it for specific work processes. A central knowledge and data layer—the "company brain"—connects information from existing data sources and systems, considers permissions, data protection, and compliance, and creates a robust context for AI applications. Amber thus not only provides support with questions and tasks but can also identify relevant connections, derive next steps, and proactively indicate areas where action is needed. This enables companies in the SME and industrial sectors to use knowledge more efficiently, improve decisions, and measurably develop recurring processes.
Our point of view:
The first wave of AI has shown that companies can quickly achieve visible added value with language models and simple applications. At the same time, it's clear that a user interface alone does not create sustainable productivity.
The next step in development is to make internal knowledge reliably usable for AI. Simply passing existing search systems unchanged to a language model is insufficient. If the search returns too many documents or the wrong ones, the AI must process more context, perform multiple searches, and compensate for additional uncertainty. This impacts costs, response time, and quality.
Therefore, upstream knowledge and data preparation is gaining importance. It can structure information, establish connections, consider relevance and timeliness, and provide the necessary context more effectively. The goal is not to feed more data into the AI, but to process less irrelevant data.
Whether AI delivers genuine added value is ultimately not determined solely by the number of requests or decreasing token costs. What matters is whether reliable results are generated, control efforts are reduced, and measurable improvements are demonstrated in concrete business processes. Only then does AI expenditure become an investment.
