Daniel Schmitz-Remberg is the founder and managing director of the strategy consultancy DSR & Partners, which supports companies in adapting to climate change. His work focuses on developing robust assessment methods, integrating them into existing management processes, and strategically anchoring resilience along the entire value chain.
After more than 15 years in sustainability consulting – including building up the "Sustainability Strategy" division at Accenture – he shifted his professional focus to climate adaptation. The reason: the growing discrepancy between ambitious decarbonization goals and the reality of increasing climate impacts on business processes.
To give the topic greater visibility and urgency, he initiated the conference format THE SHIFT in 2024, which addressed climate adaptation in companies for the first time. In 2025, he handed the format over to Handelsblatt to further expand its reach and impact together. The Adaptation Tech Award – an award for technological solutions that strengthen corporate resilience – also originated from his initiative. He regularly reports on leading climate adaptation technology solutions in the Adaptation10 newsletter.
In his work, he combines sound strategic thinking with a pragmatic, action-oriented approach. His goal: not only to prepare companies for the future, but to actively support them in successfully thriving in a +3°C world.
